Clinical report of acute open bite treatment

Abstract
|
|
|
This case report represented sudden open bite treatment of adult.
The patient's open bite sudden occured after serial dental procedure(prosthetic and orthodontic treatment).
Usual open bite cause wasn't explain this case.
Maybe posterior discrepancy which was induced narrow arch width during dental treatment caused open bite. So treatment pricedure are to remove pontic of mandibular first molar and extracted maxillary third molar for relieving posterior
discrepancy.
MEAW
mechanics used for bite closure. The result was not satisfactory in which extrusion of maxillary incisor. On the other hand, evaluation of EMG and T-scan marked increasing bite forces and bite contact point.
From this case, it is important that adult orthodontic and prosthetic treatment were carefully treated and examed in vertical height of molars.
